The Pope’s Exorcist is coming to theaters around the world and, later on, it will come to Netflix. For those in the United States, it’s likely that they’ll receive the new film via Sony Picture’s first-window release deal later this year. Here’s what you need to know.
The new horror thriller, led by Russell Crowe, is directed by Julius Avery (Mister, son of a gun and jerry can) and is based on the real-life files of father Gabriele Amorth, who investigated the terrifying possession of a child.
Alongside Crowe in Movie Stars Daniel Zovato, Alex Essoe, and Franco Nero. The film has received mixed reviews so far with film hole comparing it to a mix between The Da Vinci Code and The Exorcist, citing Crowe’s performance as the main reason for turning the film around.
The Pope’s Exorcist hits theaters in the United States on April 14, 2023, with most international regions showing it a week before April 7.
When The Pope’s Exorcist be on Netflix in the US?
Let’s start with the United States, where we know for sure that the movie will be released on the service and probably in late 2023.
So far, we’ve seen Sony movies on Netflix US anywhere from 120 to 225 days after their exclusive theatrical window.
Assuming the same thing happens here again, The Pope’s Exorcist At the earliest, it will hit Netflix US on August 12, 2023. If the worst happens, the movie won’t arrive until September 2023.
Once it hits Netflix, The Pope’s Exorcist will broadcast for 18 months.

Netflix Canada and the UK receive movies from Sony around two years after their theatrical release. This also applies to regions such as Belgium, Greece, Japan, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and South Africa. This means that it is most likely a version 2025/2026.
