A Caracas court will surely this Wednesday that the Venezuelan student leader Sairam Rivas will be tried in freedom.

Rivas, released last Tuesday night, has been detained since May 14, when security forces dismantled several camps of protesters opposed to the government of Nicolás Maduro.

In one of them, Rivas was arrested along with 49 other people, of whom 46 remained fully free with the dismissal of the cases. At that time, the Executive assured that the camps were hiding places for «violent people.»

The wave of protests against the Venezuelan government, which occurred between February and May of this year, left 43 dead and hundreds arrested and injured.
