The US Coast Guard has ended the search for a Louisiana teenager who fell overboard during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas Wednesday night.

The agency announced Saturday the conclusion of the search for Cameron Robbins, 18, a recent high school graduate, after a two-day effort led by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

The agency did not say whether a body was found.

Robbins was in the Bahamas staying at the Atlantis Paradise resort in Nassau with other Baton Rouge teens to celebrate his high school graduation, Louisiana State University confirmed Thursday.

Robbins graduated from University Lab High School, which operates as part of LSU, on Sunday. The trip was not a school-sanctioned event, according to LSU.

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force contacted the Coast Guard Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. after Robbins fell off the Blackbeard’s Revenge sunset cruise, according to a statement. Press release.

«The US Coast Guard District Seven deployed multiple search and rescue assets in response to a request for agency assistance from our partners in the Royal Bahamas Defense Force,» said Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Spado , Liaison Officer for the Coast Guard in the Bahamas. «Our Coast Guard command center and Miami-based aircrews supported the RBDF search and rescue efforts from the initial report Wednesday night and continued through Friday night.»

Search and rescue teams searched more than 325 square miles for Robbins.

The active search was suspended by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force pending developments, according to the Coast Guard.
