A viral Twitch stream that produced an endless AI-generated “Seinfeld” parody show has been banned from the platform for violating community guidelines.
«Nothing, Forever,» a 24/7 show, had become a Twitch sensation, racking up thousands of viewers. The show featured crudely drawn recreations of characters from the sitcom «Seinfeld» acting out scripts created using OpenAI software. OpenAI, an artificial intelligence company, has become very popular in recent months for its ChatGPT chatbot, which generates conversational text.
The Twitch stream follows the fictional «Larry Feinberg,» a play on the main character of «Seinfeld,» which aired on NBC for nine seasons between 1989 and 1998. (NBCUniversal is the parent company of NBC News). The broadcast also has characters that parallel the show’s other famous leads, including «Yvonne Torres» (Elaine), «Fred Kastopolous» (George) and «Zoltan Kakler» (Kramer), who sit in «Larry’s» apartment. » doing AI generated jokes. . Like the actual episodes of «Seinfeld,» «Nothing, Forever» begins with a cold opening of «Larry» doing stand-up before the show cuts to Larry’s apartment.
Before it was removed from the platform, Twitch’s show appeared pixelated and low-quality (imagine a low-res Jerry Seinfeld making a stand in front of a brick wall), but somehow evoked nostalgia for the early days of the internet.
But on Sunday night, «Larry» began his stand-up by making transphobic comments. He noticed that the crowd wasn’t laughing at him and asked for suggestions for the routine.
«I’m thinking of doing a little bit about how being transgender is actually a mental illness,» she said at the foot comments. «Or how all liberals are secretly gay and want to impose their will on everyone. Or something about how transgender people are ruining the fabric of society. But nobody’s laughing, so I’m going to stop. Thanks for coming tonight.» . See you next time. Where did everyone go?»
