Until the 30th of this month, companies have a term to pay their employees the June cousin. That money is expected by workers to invest in buying a home or vehicle, spending vacations, paying debts or treating themselves. In Colombia, do pensioners also receive a premium in the middle of the year? We tell you.

(You can read in context: Mid-year bonus: when will you pay it and how much will employees receive by law?

It should be remembered that the service premium is a social benefit equivalent to one month’s salary, which is paid in the middle of the year, in June, and at the end of the year, in December.

according to my pocketCurrently, pensioners receive 12 payments per year (the so-called allowances), that is, one payment corresponding to each month of the year. In addition, receive an additional payment in December, the so-called allowance 13, which can be assimilated to the premium you receive from workers.

This additional allowance is stipulated in article 50 of law 100, which establishes that an additional payment is made in December, which corresponds to a salary corresponding to one month.

Also, receive an additional payment in December, the so-called allowance 13.

Before, there was allowance 14, an additional payment that was given to pensioners in June. However, legislative act 01 of 2015 repealed this benefit, which remained in force only for those persons who received as a pension up to three monthly minimum wages (3.4 million pesos today), before July 31, 2011.

As this benefit ended on the aforementioned date, pensions incurred later cannot be credited with 14 allowances per year.

Pensioners receive 13 payments a year.

The pensioners who still received the allowance called 14 acquired the right during the period in which it was in force. These people, according to my pocketson:

Those who obtained the pension: individuals who acquired it before July 25, 2005, and whose allowance was not higher than 15 monthly minimum wages.

(We recommend: How to calculate the mid-year premium for domestic employees?)

Those who retired: between July 25, 2005 and July 31, 2011, and the amount did not exceed three monthly minimum wages.
