green bay packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to make $60 million next season, making any NFL team looking to trade the four-time league MVP a daunting endeavor.
However, on Tuesday Rodgers recognized that he doesn’t anticipate that price being a problem if he does decide to play another season.

«Yeah, it’s a lot of money,» he admitted on «The Pat McAfee Show.»

«I don’t think there would be a scenario where he would come back and that would be the number. I think it would definitely be, things would definitely have to change.»
He continued: «I think there are a lot of teams due to covid who are tied up and seen with many different contracts, they are making money on deals. They are creating some type of gap years to allow for an easier cap. So surely there would have to be some adjustments.»

Rodgers has in no way committed to playing another season, either with the Packers or with another team. However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport warned this week that any trade involving Rodgers would not only be very financially demanding, but would also likely include some high draft picks.
«So, you could do it, but that’s an astronomical amount for a quarterback,» he said on the show Monday.

Rodgers would have several potential landing spots if he decides to play and the Packers are willing to trade; however, one team in particular stands out due to its longstanding quarterback woes and willingness to pay.
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson He said earlier this month that he would «absolutely» be willing to spend big to get a veteran quarterback on the roster after another tumultuous year for second-year QB Zach Wilson.
«We have a cap, so there’s an amount you can spend. But, yeah, yeah, that’s the missing piece.»
