Now a minor league baseball team in Baltimore is celebrating the change with discount tickets and cake.

«Longtime fans of the Washington franchise are celebrating the news of the sale of the team,» Baysox general manager Brian Shallcross said via the team’s website.

«And we just want to provide a light-hearted opportunity for Commanders fans to come out and enjoy a fun night at the ballpark as we commemorate this time of transition.»

According to the press release, fans wearing Washington gear will receive a $10 box seat per day, which are the closest seats to the field, and any fan named Josh or Harris will get a box seat. free general admission.

In honor of nba Legend Magic Johnson, Whoever is part of the group that buys the Commanders, any fan wearing a Johnson jersey will also get a free ticket.

One fan from each of those groups will also be able to throw out the first pitches.

Both parties announced the deal in a joint statement on Friday, about a month after reaching an agreement in principle on the sale for a record $6.05 billion.

Three-quarters owner approval and other customary closing conditions are still pending.
