Until recently, Nancy Meyers was working on her next big rom-com for Netflix. However, it has been reported that for budget reasons, Netflix has canceled the project. Here’s everything we know so far about supreme paris and its communicated cancellation.

In the report, the studio was happy to work with a budget of $130 million, but Meyers was pushing for an additional $20 million, on top of «above-the-line costs» already at $80 million. There is currently no confirmation of where the project will land next, if at all.
Of course, the budget of a Netflix movie is not comparable to the budget of a traditional movie. As Joe Russo recently explained for the gray man (which exceeded $200 million), “Netflix is obviously different than other studios, because they have acquisitions that are against budget. “A talented young writer/director falls for a producer, and the pair end up making several hit movies before calling it quits romantically and professionally. However, the two are forced to get back together when a big new project comes along, and they find themselves back together and having to deal with high stakes and volatile stars.
THR notes that the film’s story supposedly shares parallels to Meyers’ own life.
This is going to be a huge cast with at least eight main supporting characters and five minor supporting roles from what we’ve heard so far.
Who is in the cast of the Netflix Nancy Meyers movie?

No cast member has been officially confirmed yet.
We first reported on February 10th that Netflix was in talks and looking for three main stars for the film in the form of Scarlett Johansson, Owen Wilson, and Penelope Cruz.
Johansson is best known for black widow with the UCM and worked with Netflix in marriage storydirected by Noah Baumbach (we hear the pair will also be reuniting in a new movie on Netflix).
Wilson has also had a spell within the MCU, appearing in the Disney+ series. Loki. Elsewhere, Wilson is known for movies like Wedding Crashers and starry sky and rabbit hutch.
Cruz previously appeared in the 2020 Netflix movie wasp net but is also known for vanilla heaven, vicky cristina barcelonaand Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Fassbender recently finished shooting the David Fincher movie The murderer is coming to Netflix in late 2023, but it’s also known for X Men, Prometheus, and steve jobs.

Prior to the project’s cancellation, filming was reportedly to take place between May and August 2023.
Filming was intended to take place entirely in Los Angeles, California.
In January 2023, Meyer posted on his Instagram that she was back on a study lot. It is not clear if that was related to this project.
