Ring of Honor (ROH) champion Jay Briscoe died in a car accident Tuesday in Delaware, he was 38 years old.
Briscoe, real name Jamin Pugh, joined ROH in 2002 and was one-half of the promotion’s World Tag Team Champion along with his brother Mark Briscoe (real name Mark Pugh).

It was the brothers’ 13th reign as tag team champions.
Briscoe was also a two-time solo champion with ROH and a six-man tag team champion.
«An incredible artist who created a deep connection with wrestling fans around the world. My condolences to Jay Briscoe’s family and friends,» said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H. he tweeted on tuesday.
According to reports, it is one of two people who died in the shipwreck.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked Briscoe seventh on their 500 Greatest Wrestlers of 2015 and he was inducted into the ROH Hall of Fame last year.
