Four agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) were captured this Wednesday in Guatemala, for allegedly being involved in a network of kidnappers.

The police officers served in the Unit Against Trafficking in Persons of the Specialized Criminal Investigation Division (DEIC) and had recently entered it, according to information from authorities of that institution.

The detainees are: Ángel Ricardo Esteban Reyes, Germán Pineda Pérez, Edgar David de León Sandoval and Nora Elizabeth León Corado.

The PNC reported that they are accused of the crimes of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and illicit association, although it did not specify in which cases the agents are involved.
