A federal grand jury indicted a prominent Southern California attorney and accused him of robbing dozens of his sympathetic victims, court documents revealed Wednesday.

Thomas Girardi, who is married to a «Real Housewives of Beverly Hills» cast member Erika Jaynehe was indicted on 12 counts by the US District Court in Chicago.

Girardi’s law partner Christopher Kamon and David Lira, head of the firm’s accounting and finance department, were also charged with 12 criminal counts.

It was not immediately clear Wednesday if Girardi, Kamon or Lira had been detained or if any of the men had retained an attorney.

The legal drama involving Girardi and his wife was featured on the hit reality show Bravo. A story line from the final season closely followed a couple of diamond earringsprized by Giradi’s wife, and which some of his fellow «Housewives» believed he should hand out to the victims of the fraud.

This is a developing story. Update here for updates.
