Andrea Suarez will assume the UM global presidencyone of the largest media and marketing agencies in the world, and Christian Dieb Faour will be the new regional president for Latin America, the appointments that were made thanks to the results of the respective teams in Latin America that have promoted the appointment of leaders from this part of the world in global positions within the IPG Mediabrands organization.

In the last week the names of two of the people who will be in charge of one of the marketing and media brands of this group were known: UM.

Andrea Suarez will assume the global presidency of the brand. She has built a career full of challenges, but also satisfaction, and has been an example of the enthusiasm and commitment of the teams in Latin America.

Christian Dieb FaourFor his part, he will be the regional president of UM for Latin America, and will continue to hold the position of CEO of IPG Mediabrands for the Andean region (consisting of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru).

Solid in leadership

Both Andrea and Christian have inspiring stories that will propel more and more people from this part of the world into leadership roles within the holding company and more broadly in the global marketing, advertising and communications industry.

Andrea has been part of the company for a decade, first serving as President for Latin America at UM, then through different executive leadership roles such as CEO of IPG Mediabrands for Latin Americawhere he boosted the company’s business, leading it to record growth and making it the most dynamic region in the world, while promoting a corporate culture based on equity and inclusion.

Under his leadership, IPG Mediabrands became the number one media agency network in the region, according to Recma, a position it maintains to this day.
Likewise, she was the first Latin American woman to achieve a global leadership position in the media agency industry when she assumed the role of CEO for IPG Mediabrands Global Markets in 2012, where he was responsible for more than 50 offices in more than 40 countries.

Most recently, he has been running Thrive, the agency created to serve Nestlé globally.

Dieb Faour, for his part, began his career at IPG Mediabrands in 2001 as account director at Initiative, and held roles as group director, new business director Andean Region until he became general director of Initiative in Colombia.

After spending 12 years outside the holding company, during which time he assumed the presidency of GLP and Caracol Radio, companies of Grupo Prisa, he returned to IPG Mediabrands as head of the holding company in Colombia, the first step that would lead him to a new season of achievements in the organization.

Since 2021 he has held the position of CEO for the Andean Region, where he has managed to IPG Mediabrands Colombia and Peru occupy the number one position in the Recma ranking, and furthermore under their vision and people-focused approach, the two countries have also been certified as a Great Place to Work.
