In 2022 air transport in Colombia had record numbers of mobilization of passengers. Cut to November, more than 43.58 million people have been mobilized to and from the different terminals in the country.

Compared to the figures for 2019, the year in which the highest number of mobilized passengers had been registered with 41.3 million, a growth of 16.2 percent. If the period between January and November 2022 is compared with the same as in 2021, the market grew 64.3 percent.

According to the figures reported by the airlines, 29.86 million users traveled to and from national destinations. While 13.72 million people did it to and from international destinationswith a growth of 6.1 percent and 101.2 percent compared to 2019 and 2021, respectively.

The airports that have handled the most passengers in the first 11 months of 2022 are the gold of bogota; Jose Maria Cordova de Rionegro; Alfonso Bonilla Aragón from Cali and Rafael Núñez from Cartagena.

For this weekend of the end of the year, the mobilization of about 528,179 passengers through the country’s air terminals. About 356,285 passengers will move to and from national destinations and approximately 171,894 passengers will move to and from international destinations.

The cities with the greatest mobilization by air during this end of the year will be Bogota, Rionegro, Cali, CartagenaSanta Marta, Barranquilla, San Andrés, Pereira, Bucaramanga and Cúcuta.

During his visit to the Juan José Rondón de Paipa airport, the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, stressed that the government’s goal is to improve the infrastructure of intermediate aerodromes as a comprehensive solution to the population’s air connectivity difficulties.
