Charles Barkley participated in the American Century Championship near Lake Tahoe over the weekend and while his performance on the golf course was nothing to write home about, he did turn heads with his comments about Bud Light at a club.

Barkley was seen on Friday and Saturday nights talking to bargoers and telling them he would buy them beer, Bud Light to be specific.

«I want everyone to drink this fucking beer. I want everyone to drink this fucking beer,» he said in a video that initially appeared on TikTok on Friday night. «I have three boxes of Bud Light. Hey, and I want to say this… If you’re gay, bless you. If you’re transgender, bless you. If you have a problem with that, f— you!»

Barkley made another impassioned speech the following night.

«I’m going to buy y’all some shots. And I’m going to buy Bud Light. And I’m going to tell you something: all of you rednecks or assholes who don’t want to drink Bud Light.» , f — you. Hey, you can’t cancel me,» Barkley said.

Barkley made similar comments during last year’s tournament.

Barkley finished 81st in the tournament, just ahead of Miles Teller, Jim McMahon, and a few others.

Bud Light and its parent company, Anheuser-Busch, have taken a beating since they partnered with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

Since the controversy began, Bud Light has fallen out of the top 10 most popular beers in the US and sales «show no signs of recovery,» said a MoneyWatch report earlier this month. Sales are down nearly 30% from where they were last June.
