Ariana Grande is addressing recent speculation about her health in a rare message for her fans.
On Tuesday, the 29-year-old singer-actor uploaded a video to Tik Tok where she candidly opened up about current comments regarding her body and past health struggles.
Grande began the video by sharing that she doesn’t usually talk about rumors. However, he decided to make an exception.
“I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means for a person with a body and to be seen…to have so much attention paid to it,” she explained.
She continued: «I think we should be kinder and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what.»
While she said she recognizes that some social media users may mean well and think they’re being flattering, she said it’s best to simply avoid talking about someone’s body.
“There are ways to compliment someone or ignore something that you see you don’t like and I think we should help each other work,” he recommended.
The singer’s comments come after fans began commenting on her. instagram posts about her thinness.
In her video response, the “Thank U, Next” singer pointed out that there is no such thing as an ideal image of beauty and health.
«I know, personally to me, that the body you’ve been comparing my current body to was the less healthy version of my body,» she shared. “I was taking a lot of antidepressants and drinking with them and eating badly and I was at the lowest point in my life when I looked the way you think of as healthy. But that, in fact, was not my health.”
Although she says she knows she shouldn’t feel compelled to be vulnerable and reveal her private struggles to the world, Grande said she wanted to open up about her health issues because maybe «something good could come of it.»
I also wanted to convey the message that everyone is going through something.
“So even if you come from a loving or caring place, that person is probably working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with. You never know,” she explained.
Grande added: «So be kind to each other and to yourselves.» He ended the three-minute clip by expressing his love for his fans and reminding them that they are always beautiful.
«I think you’re beautiful no matter what you’re going through, no matter your weight, no matter how you like to do your makeup these days, no matter what cosmetic procedures you’ve had or not,» she concluded.
Beneath the TikTok video, fans applauded and reiterated Grande’s sentiment.

The video marked a rare and candid social media outing from the actor who has been busy filming the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked,” which will be a two-part movie. Grande has been cast as Glinda.
Earlier this year, he uploaded a video of her singing along to «Over the Rainbow» from “The Wizard of Oz,” which has fans eagerly awaiting his portrayal of the bubbly character.
The first part of “Wicked” will be released in 2024.
