The podcast appearance was the first for Rodgers since coming out of his four-day «dark retreat,» which the quarterback had said was to «contemplate all things, my future, and then make a decision that I think it is best for me to move on and in the best interest of my happiness».

Gutekunst told reporters Tuesday that he and Rodgers haven’t connected this offseason beyond exchanging a few text messages.
«I feel really good about the conversations that are going to be had, that have been had with important people in my life, including yourself, who helped guide me,» continued Rodgers. «But I’m not looking for someone to tell me what the answer is. All the answers are within me. And I mentioned a lot of them, and definitely the feelings on both sides. during the dark, and I am grateful for that time.
